Stroller Strides / Strides 360

Do I need to Pre-Register or can I just show up?

Pre-registration is required at least an hour before class. Feel free to contact an instructor via email or phone if you have any issues registering.

What do I need to bring to class?

Plenty of water, towel or yoga mat/blanket, sunscreen (for outdoor classes), baby essentials including snacks and/or toys for your little one(s), comfortable walking/running shoes (both Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre are traveling classes), appropriate exercise attire, and any kind of stroller.

I just had a baby, when can I join Stroller Strides/Strides 360?

You can begin attending class after your medical clearance to begin exercising, typically after your six week postpartum appointment. See you at class or an event, Mama!

Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancies as long as everything has been approved by their physician/medical provider. FIT4MOM Instructors are qualified to lead our professionally designed pre/postnatal fitness programs that follow the latest American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses a challenge as you progress through your pregnancy. FIT4MOM® recommends you obtain your doctor’s approval prior to beginning any class, whether it is prenatal Fit4Baby or Stroller Strides/Strides 360. If pregnant, please speak with your physician before your first day. We look forward to spending time with you!

Exercise during pregnancy has proven beneficial and helps improve or increase the following:

  • Cardiovascular fitness

  • Muscular strength/endurance

  • Energy levels

  • Higher fatigue threshold

  • Posture and biomechanics

  • Circulation

  • Self-esteem, sense of well-being

  • Recovery time

Do I need to be a Runner to attend these classes?

Absolutely not! Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre is for moms of ALL fitness levels. We meet for a warm up, then power walk, jog, or run to each exercise station. You exercise at your own pace. The instructor offers levels and every body is different and we'll celebrate that. Welcome to FIT4MOM!

At what age can my baby be in a jogger?

As a general guideline, when your baby can hold his/her head up, he/she can ride in a jogger. But, we suggest that you follow your own stroller manufacturer’s guidelines. You can use a head roll and bolster to make your baby even more secure. With shock absorbers and recline features, the age can be quite young.

Do I need a jogging stroller for the workout?

Jogging strollers are not required. As long as the stroller is sturdy, not prone to tipping, and all children can be safely strapped into their seats for the duration of class, it will work just fine! The kids get to play after class and will follow our schedule. The instructors can also assist mom with the little ones so they can have fun and be safe!

My baby doesn't like being in the stroller for too long, how will I get a good workout?

Babies are priority, so don't worry if your baby becomes fussy during class! Our classes are designed to keep the kids moving and engaged by incorporating songs and various props to keep them entertained. With that said, if you need to change, nurse or console your little one, please do so (remember, you are in good company). Kids will have good and also challenging moments and we understand that. The kiddos learn the new routine of "Mommy's hour" and learn a few things during our FIT4MOM workout too! Soon, kids will ask to go to class!

How old does my baby need to be to start classes?

Babies and kids can join you at Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre up to any age as long as they can still safely be buckled in the stroller. Older children (on school break, homeschooled, etc) that do not fit into a stroller are allowed to walk safely with us, and only if they stay near mom. For newborn infants, we recommend waiting until you have medical clearance from your physician (normally this is 6-8 weeks postpartum). Always obtain your doctor's permission before starting this or any other kind of exercise program.

What do I do if my baby gets fussy during class?

It's okay! Sometimes babies cry. You will be in a group full of moms with kids - we've all been there and we all get it. You're always able to do what you need to do to take care of your little one and, of course, we try to keep things moving so that the babies and kids are learning and entertained.

What if I need to feed my baby during class?

We’ve got you, Mama! If you need to change, nurse, feed, or console your baby, please do so. Class stations are flexible and you can participate while taking care of your baby. Your FIT4MOM instructor will make sure to provide you with comfort and discretion during class.

Can my older children walk along or ride their bike during class?

Safety is our first priority. We ask all stroller-age children to be safely in a stroller. Older children who do not fit into a stroller can be at class if they can walk safely near mom and do not get the other children out of their strollers. Safety first for all! Kids learn our schedule pretty quickly, listen to the instructor, and they have fun with their friends after class too!

Body Back / Body Ignite

Do I need to Pre-Register or can I just show up?

Pre-registration is required at least an hour before class. Feel free to contact an instructor via email or phone if you have any issues registering.

Can I do Body Back or Body Ignite if I am pregnant?

Pregnant moms are encouraged to come to Body Ignite. Most exercises are already prenatal friendly and the remaining exercises (mostly core) can be modified to accommodate your specific needs.

The Body Back workout is not intended for prenatal exercise and we do not recommend following the meal plans during pregnancy. If you become pregnant during the course of your Body Back session, please notify your instructor. We offer FIT4BABY, Stroller Strides, and Strides 360 as appropriate prenatal exercise programs.

A yoga mat or towel for the abs portion and cool down. A resistance band (we will provide one for you on your first day of class), plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat. You WILL sweat!

Body Back is a high-intensity interval training class that is delivered in one of three ways: Rounds, Circuit or Traveling. We cycle through Cardio, Strength and Core for a full-body workout that provides a significant caloric afterburn for enhanced results. Every class finishes with a relaxing meditation.

Body Ignite is a solely strength class using body weight resistance and weighted bars. Participants will get a total body workout using the bars to challenge their legs, arms, and core. Two weight options are available in the bars, and you will sometimes use light bars for one exercise and heavy bars for a different one. Every class finished with a relaxing meditation.

Do I need to be in great shape to participate in class?

No. We have all fitness levels in our classes! But, we will warn you ... these classes are designed to be tough! Our goal is to deliver a workout that will challenge any fitness level. It might not be easy, but it will be worth it.

What makes Body Back and Body Ignite different from the gym?

Body Back is so much more than just another HIIT workout! And Body Ignite is a perfect strength compliment to the more common cardio infused classes. We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Your Body Back coach will help you through your personal goals and check in with you throughout the week . Through education, we help you create a healthier home and more active lifestyle for your family. We believe you should be empowered and encouraged to push past your perceived limits and find inner strength while building physical strength. We strive to build you up and put you first to create your BEST YOU.
